As part of our monthly commitment to local animal rescues, we gave to North Shore Animal League in October. North Shore Animal League is the largest no-kill animal rescue in the world, placing 18,000 pets annually in loving and responsible homes. Each month, we donate $5 on behalf of each of our dogs to a local shelter. This month, we'd like your input on choosing an organization to send our gift. If there is an organization that you find inspiring, we want to hear from you! Send us your suggestions to email@example.com.

As part of our commitment each month to local rescues, we've donated $5 on behalf of each of our beloved dogs to Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue! Donations to Badass Brooklyn go directly towards rescuing BADASS dogs from high-kill shelters in the rural South and finding them great forever homes. Next month we will be giving to North Shore Animal League. Thank you to all of our amazing dogs and families for making our donation possible!
Dog walking is an unregulated industry, which makes it difficult to choose a qualified caregiver for your pup. Every company claims to be trustworthy dog lovers, but what else should you look for when screening a potential candidate? Here are 5 questions you need to ask when you're considering hiring a dog walker:
1. "Are you certified in pack management, leash handling, safety and fight protocols, and first aid?"
Why ask? Just loving dogs isn't enough to be a professional dog walker. The correct training and certifications are crucial for maintaining a safe environment and knowing how to address any issues that may arise.
2. "How many dogs do you walk at once?"
The smaller the number, the safer your dog - and the more attention your dog receives.
3. "What size dogs do you walk together?"
Small dogs and big dogs often enjoy each other’s company, but for safety reasons be sure your walker keeps little ones and big ones separate.
4. "What kind of training methods and equipment do you use?"
Your walker should know how to keep dogs under control and safe without the use of choke, prong, and shock collars; citronella or water spray; hitting, shoving, or yelling.
5. "Are you licensed, insured, and bonded?"
Professional dog walkers, in addition to being certified, will be up-to-date on their paperwork and professional insurance.
WOOF! is a certified professional dog walker through Dog*Tec's Dog Walking Academy, and is fully licensed, insured, bonded, and First Aid/CPR certified. We never walk in packs, and carefully organize our small groups to promote safety and socialization.
